Leading Facilitator
Bio – James Ritchie, Managing Director
James brings diverse senior executive leadership experience from the public, private and not-for-profit sectors. He has previously worked in the international development, environment, water, Victorian Public Service, and mining sectors in strategy, policy, corporate services and project management roles.

James has delivered many corporate and business initiatives across various sectors. Most recently these have including employee engagement, organisational development, policy and procedures, board performance reviews, performance management, risk management, compliance and strategy development and implementation.

James has also had executive leadership accountability for various board committees including Governance, Risk and Audit, Strategy, Knowledge Management, Work Health and Safety and Enterprise Bargaining.

James has held various emergency and crisis management responsibilities across his career, in particular during his time in the mining and water sectors having executive accountability for fire and flood response, counter terrorism planning and emergency evacuation.

Most recently James has held senior executive and consulting roles with strategic oversight of diverse corporate and business-related functions which include human resources, mergers, information technology, property and asset management, employee and industrial relations including investigations, conciliation and other legal and commercial matters.

James has designed and implemented organisational educational, training and facilitation programs across sectors as diverse as legal, water corporations, Non Government Organisations (NGO’s), statutory agencies and government departments that have delivered positive reform and change by improving operational and strategic leadership in people, business strategy, cultural and technological change, coaching and emotional and moral intelligence.

James is passionate about enabling people and their organisations to drive and deliver the best outcomes through strategy development, business efficiency, change management and reform using strong collaborative decision-making processes. James has gained substantive cultural diversity experience having lead and managed teams across Australia, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands and Indonesia.

James has a strong ability to lead, plan and deliver across diverse functions and portfolios which is attributed to his strong strategic thinking combined with his exemplar management skills. He holds a Masters of Business Administration (International Relations) and a Commerce Degree in Business Management and Industrial Relations. James also holds an International Diploma in Humanitarian Assistance (IDHA50) from Fordham University, New York, USA and has completed training in Disaster Risk Management at the Seminar für Ländliche Entwicklung (SLE) Humboldt-Universität Berlin.
